In my opinion one of the best features of GoToAssist Express is Unattended Support. Having the ability to set up a client or family member’s PC (and soon their Mac as well), so that you can connect in and trouble shoot anytime you need is just the best. As you add more and more computers to your list though, it can become a little tricky quickly locating the one your after….. you need to get organized!
Above is my list of Unattended PCs, there is only 20 but lets pretend there are 200. In order to make it easier to locate the PC you want there is a search tool located in the lower right corner, it’s subtractive so as you enter characters names that do not match are removed.
The more characters you enter the more effective the search tool is.
The trick is to decide on a naming convention that makes good use of this search, for example Company Initials: Department: User Name = CTX:GCS:GlennD
This simple naming convention will make supporting multiple clients and users a lot easier and as an added bonus your reports will be easier to read when it comes to billing for your services.
